Working on the Jetta

Anthony has been helping daddy work on the Jetta all weekend! He really enjoys it and Larry will admit that he's been helpful, even if he does slow things down a little bit.

Nice day for a bike ride!

Anthony took me for a bike ride today. Sorry I only had my cell phone to take a picture, but the lighting was pretty good, I think.

He's all worn out now. :)

Anthony as Elmo

Anthony as Elmo, originally uploaded by misspudding.

Anthony's school had a carnival this weekend. They had lots of sugary snacks and games.

Anthony was the lucky winner of a goldfish, too! He had so much fun at the carnival and even more fun at the pet store, later on, picking out gravel (fruity, neon colors) and habitat for his new little friend. The fish is named Sally, though we have no clue as to whether it is a boy or girl (won't know until it's about a year old).

As you can see, Elmo is Anthony's costume for Halloween this year, which is Friday! Hard to believe it's coming up so soon! This is the first year that Anthony's really been excited about it. He is absolutely looking forward to it.

Museum of Flight

Oh he loves the airplanes, originally uploaded by misspudding.

We went to Boeing Field/The Museum of Flight today with Anthony's best bud, Declan, and my best gal, Laura.

They had a good time running around and looking at the nice airplanes hanging from the ceiling. The best part, though, was the control tower mock-up, where they could actually watch planes take off and land. It was a perfect day for viewing.

Anthony was so tired that, when we got home, he passed out on the couch in the living room. Not a bad day at all!

BBQ!!!

Happy Anthony, originally uploaded by misspudding.

We had a BBQ at our house this weekend. This is easily the largest party we've ever had at our house during the five years we've lived here. Larry said the head count was over two dozen!

Anthony had a ton of fun, as there were at least four kids under the age of four there. They ran around, got dirty, and kicked balls around the yard.

Larry got stuck on grill duty for a few hours, but it was worth it. We had hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, chicken, ribs and salmon!

We're already looking forward to our next party, which will probably be our annual Superbowl party.

Unsupervised use of markers

Unsupervised use of markers, originally uploaded by misspudding.

We let Anthony use some markers the other day. We supervised him for a bit but then had other things to do.

The kid was alone with the markers for only 15 or 20 minutes. He ended up with ink all over his forehead, hands and fingers and all over his shirt. When we realized the extent of the damage to him, we started looking around the house and, lo and behold, there were hand prints on the wall going up the stairs!

Anthony at the beach

Mukilteo, originally uploaded by misspudding.

Testing, testing...I'm trying to link up Anthony's blog with my flickr photo page. It'll make it easier to share photos.

Edited to add: Yay! Looks like it worked great. Of course, if you want to see the whole picture, you have to click on it. Otherwise, though, it's perfect!

Update

Sorry it's been a couple of months. We've been sort of busy.

Larry's been busy with work rehabbing the old train tunnels east of Snoqualmie Pass along with some vibration monitoring work. He's also been shooting and had his big, big USPSA match down in Oregon!

I went to SeaFair with some good friends of mine, Michelle and Stephen. I climbed a mountain with my good friend, Andrew. I also flew to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a job interview and to visit another good friend named Andrew (we went to Rolla together and drove out to field camp in Utah and back). I also took a part-time job, locally, as a geophysicist.

Anthony has been doing really great. He's had a fun summer hanging out with people, especially his good friend Declan, and doggies! He met a cute little dog named Bolero down in Gig Harbor.

Unfortunately, this weekend, Anthony came down with the first big cold of the season. I blame all of the kids who went to exotic places all arriving back on the first real week of school. Anthony's been sick for a couple of days and went to see the doctor today. As a treat for him and to get him some healthy sunshine, I took him to the beach today. He had fun watching the ferry boats arrive and depart but was pretty emotional when I said we needed to go home. Pretty typical for our favorite three-year old.

Grandpa George and Grandma Julie visit

Since I'm totally exhausted from all of the stuff we did this week, I'm not going to post a ton of photos. Instead, I will link to my flickr account, which is located here:

The summary is that we visited the Seattle Underground, the San Juan Islands and Mount Saint Helens! It was very exciting and very cool! Anthony is very tired from all of the fun, though, and is sleeping right now.

Exciting afternoon!

Anthony and I ran to the grocery store in the afternoon and on our way home realized that one of our neighbor's houses was on fire! We came in the back way through the neighborhood and discovered there was no way I could drive through to get to our part of the neighborhood. So, we drove around, tried the other entrance and couldn't get in that way either. There were FOUR fire trucks! We found a side street, parked the car, dragged our two bags of groceries into the house and then...went back to see what was going on!

When we got there, the firefighters were just about finished putting the fire out, thank goodness. No one was inside when the fire started, so no one was hurt.

Though it was a sad day for the homeowners, we did get to meet a bunch of really nice firemen and women and chatted with our neighbors. One of the firemen even let Anthony hop into the fire truck and check things out!

Maw Maw's in town!

Anthony's Maw Maw came to visit this week. First thing we did was go on a cruise around Seattle!

A day at the beach

Anthony went to the beach at the lake by our house this afternoon. We had a good time and saw some really cool things. We saw a man that went swimming with his dog! We also saw a ton of ducks and geese, many of whom had just had babies! Anthony didn't want to go home, of course.

Here are the photos!

The Seattle Aquarium

Since I've been off for the week, Anthony and I went to the Seattle Aquarium with our friends, Declan and Laura.

We had a really good time looking at all of the fish, but we were more into the the things the divers wear when going to look at fish than the fish themselves.

Anthony checked out some cool tropical fish, including some that looked just like Nemo and Dory from the movie "Finding Nemo".

The sea otters were really popular. They eat a LOT of food!

On the way home, Anthony and Declan showed us what great friends they are.

First trip to the dentist

Sorry this is a bit old, but I finally got around to removing pictures from this camera.

Anthony went to the dentist about two months ago. It was his first trip and he didn't really care for it. Normally, he loves opening wide to show us his big smile but this time was an exception!

Lazy Saturday

Anthony really wanted his picture taken today.
